Protective Coatings Inspection
Ensure the Vendors Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) is approved prior to the commencement of the project.
Verify the manufactures Product Technical Data Sheets (PTDS) are on file are being complied with by the Vendor.
Verify the Manufactures Safety Data Sheets are on file and are being complied with by the Vendor.
Verify the blast medium complies with the requirements of the relevant specification and standard.
Verify the paint product complies with the approved manufactures specification and relevant standard.
Verify the applicators inspection devices are calibrated correctly.
Inspect the blast surface complies with the profile specified.
Verify the application of a compatible sealant is applied for areas that cannot be accessed with coating.
Monitor the mixing and thinning of coatings comply with the manufactures guidelines.
Inspect Wet Film Thickness (WFT) of coating complies with the specification.
Undertake random ambient weather checks for compliance during coatings.
Inspect Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of coating complies with the specification.
Undertake random environmental testing for compliance during coatings.
Verify curing times are compliant prior to manual handling and transport.
Verify that the final cured coating is free from runs, sags, misses overspray, holidays and foreign inclusions.
